While here at Tasty Blogging we love to make all our food from scratch, it is not always possible. If you are running from work to the gym then you may not have the time to make a quick snack to ensure you can get through that workout or that end of day meeting. Good news. We recently found a delicious treat and wanted to share it with you.
WholeMe clusters are small clusters made of lots of natural ingredients like coconut, cashews, chia seeds, blueberries, cherries and lemons. While the snacks do have some fruits from concentrate and a little bit of oil, there really is nothing to complain about. We spoke to a dietitian about them as well and were told they were the ideal type of snack people should eat.
Depending on the pack you buy you are looking at between six and nine grams of sugar per serving (a serving is the entire pouch). There are 3 grams of protein and 3 grams of fiber so you are getting a snack that will power you through a few hours. This is a snack with substance.
While these treats are really healthy the best thing about them is that they are delicious and taste homemade. Actually you could make something very similar in your home if you tried. However, the countless ingredients that are required and the time and effort means maybe this is one snack to purchase instead. You can get the snack food in small pouches in most whole food stores or if you want to save some money buy in bulk on Amazon.
There are four excellent flavors. Almond Coconut, Salted Peanut Chocolate, Cinnamon Banana Chip, Lemon Berry Chia. The Almond Coconut is the main offering and is a great foundation flavor. It is tasty without coming across as too strong. For peanut butter and cinnamon lovers out there, you have two really nice options as well. I personally loved the Lemon Berry Chia pouch. I love chia in any dish and the lemon gave it a great pinch of zest.
I recommend that you buy these and think about baking your own as well. Although it uses a wide range of ingredients, you can simplify and make some delicious clusters in no time. Whatever option you choose make sure you take advantage of this tasty snack. We all know that snacking is the most dangerous part of any diet. Your meals can be small and healthy but if you start snacking on chocolate bars in between you might as well not bother at all.
